Kelsey joined the WSGS in January 2018 as a project geologist with the Energy and Minerals team, with a focus on coal geology. She is excited to evaluate coal resources, source rocks, and basin histories in Wyoming.

She received her B.S. in geology from San Francisco State University and her M.S. in geology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Kelsey’s background is in analytical geochemistry, thermal maturity, reservoir quality, magmatic processes, and both crystalline and sedimentary petrography.
